This issue showcases a country kitchen in a rural setting. The home was set in leafy surrounds, in the Adelaide Hills and the clients operate a cellar door nearby. It was important to incorporate the surroundings and client style into this design, ensuring that a modern twist was added all the while creating a kitchen that won’t become outdated.
To encapsulate warmth, our designer Matthew Harrison used a range of materials. The clients loved the original oak tops but wanted to bring more light into the home as well as make the wet areas more functional. With this in mind we chose a mix of feature oak tops and Staron acrylic in the sink area.
There were two space restrictions to work with when finalising the design, the clients wanted to incorporate a wooden wine rack, being wine makers, this was a necessary feature. A stairwell sat adjacent the kitchen, closing off the kitchen meant that the sliding door came in behind the cabinetry to create ease of access.
Bringing all of these elements together create an authentic country kitchen in a practical kitchen space.
